Tickets.com Client Spotlight: Detroit Tigers

Tigers sell 176,000 tickets in eight hours

Single-game Tigers tickets went on sale Saturday morning, and the Tigers had sold 176,000 as of 6 p.m. -- 100,000 more than at this time last year.

Rob Matwick, the club's vice president of communications, said the Tigers' sales on tickets.com, a hub of phone and Internet transactions separate from the team box office, rivaled those of the Chicago Cubs.

Final numbers for Saturday's single-game sales weren't immediately available.
