Tickets.com Client Spotlight: Trenton Jazz Festival

Jazz legend performed at press conference yesterday

TRENTON -- As the countdown begins to Saturday's Trenton Jazz Festival, music fans could get a sneak peek at what's in store for them when jazz legend Gordon Chambers tickled the ivories at a pre-festival press conference in Trenton yesterday.

Mayor Douglas H. Palmer and the Trenton Jazz Festival executive committee hosted the Grammy-winning songwriter at a 12:30 p.m. meet-and-greet at the Trenton Marriott Hotel at Lafayette Yard.

"Gordon is one of the luminaries in our four-star Jazz Fest lineup for this coming Saturday and he will be at the piano giving us a glimpse of what has made him such a uniquely successful artist," Palmer said.

"His advance appearance here is just the appetizer before the entree Saturday and we are delighted," Palmer said.

Gordon, along with musical greats Teena Marie, Euge Groove and S.O.S., will headline Trenton's annual celebration of jazz. The festival begins Saturday at 2 p.m. Music lovers are invited to bring their own lawn chairs and settle in for the show.

Tickets for the outdoor festival at the Statehouse complex near the War Memorial cost $45 for general admission and $55 for premium seating nearest the stage. They can be purchased at www.tickets.com or at the Trenton War Memorial box office.
