ProVenue® Is Off to the Races!

Unique New Orleans Racetrack and Casino Chooses to Take Control of Revenue

Tickets.com and the Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots, a member of the prestigious Churchill Downs family of properties, have announced an agreement to use the ProVenue platform for ticketing operations at the New Orleans, LA venue.

This is the first time the Fair Grounds organization has ventured into the online ticketing arena, having predominately been an onsite admission venue. By entrusting Tickets.com to handle their ticketing needs and services, they will now be able to leverage data and control revenue -- including the ability to keep fees exceptionally low -- to aid their drive to increase advance ticket sales. They will further use their flexibility with the system to aggressively compete for non-racing events and grow their business.

Mark Connor, who leads the facility's marketing efforts, commented, "We made the decision to use ProVenue for several reasons; affordability, ease of use and access, and ability to tailor fit the platform to the needs of our facility. We look forward to offering online ticket sales to our customers as well as an enhanced customer service experience with expanded ticket purchase and delivery options."

Tickets.com® Renews Hult Center to Long Term Contract

Today we announced a long-term extension with the Hult Center for the Performing Arts. The 5 year deal - with options for an additional 6 years - includes the Center’s move to the industry leading ProVenue® ticketing platform.

“Tickets.com has been a valuable partner in providing technology services to the Hult Center and we are excited to take advantage of their latest innovations with the ProVenue system,” said Marcia James-Gluz, Ticket Services Manager at of the Center. “We look forward to expanding our capabilities and creating the best ticket purchase experience for our patrons with the use of this great tool.”

Like many other Tickets.com venues, the Hult Center is excited about upgrading to the system’s new fully-integrated, best-in-breed Interactive Seat Maps, that allow customers to select seats online from maps dynamically generated from the ticketing system. This is unlike other systems where such maps need to be built and maintained separately and updated manually when event configurations change – which is often.

The Hult Center opened to national acclaim in 1982 and is home to a number of important Resident Companies including the Eugene Ballet, Concert Choir, Opera and Symphony as well as the Oregon Bach Festival and Oregon Festival of American Music. It holds over 400 events a year in its numerous performance and entertainment spaces, including the popular outdoor Cuthbert Amphitheater. The Hult Center for the Performing Arts is owned by the people of Eugene and operated by the City of Eugene's Cultural Services Division.

Tickets.com and Erie County Fair Renew Long-Term Contract, Introduce Digital Ticketing and Access Control Entry via FiOS network

Costa Mesa, Calif. – July 23, 2008 – Tickets.com, a leading worldwide provider of integrated ticketing solutions, announces a long term extension of its ticketing services agreement with the Erie County Fair in Hamburg, NY. The nation’s third largest county fair, the Erie County Fair dates back to 1841 and averages over 950,000 attendees annually. Known as “America’s Fair,” the event takes place August 6-17 this year.

In the past, only hard tickets were offered at the fairgrounds for day-of admissions. Now, the renewed agreement will provide the event such Tickets.com digital innovations as Access Control, a scanned barcode entry solution. Tickets@Home® tickets are also available for purchase online, enabling customers to conveniently self-print their tickets in advance.

“We’re delighted to offer new, advanced technologies to patrons of our event, which has a history reaching back to the 19th century,” said Erie County Fair Director of Marketing & PR Lou Ann Delaney. “Our previous success with Tickets.com convinced us that the company is the right ticketing provider for our future growth and development.”

Concurrently, the Erie County Fair has partnered with Verizon to use their fiber-optic FiOS network to implement these technologies throughout the 275-acre fairgrounds. The network enables onsite connectivity, which allows the event to employ digital ticketing solutions even in the most remote locations of the expansive site – a first in the event’s history.

"It’s exciting to work with the Erie County Fair and Verizon to deliver cutting edge technologies that enhance the overall customer experience, especially at an event with such a rich heritage,” said Brian Roberts, vice president of sales, Tickets.com. “We look forward to continuing to provide innovative digital ticketing solutions in the years to come.”

Tickets to this year’s Erie County Fair are now on sale at www.americas-fair.com.

That's the Ticket!

Excerpts from an article by Melody Kramer from the June/July 2008 Issue of Facility Manager, ticketing industry publication, featuring Tickets.com ticketing technology

Facilities are discovering that the ticket to a better - and more profitable - attendee experience is right in their customers' hands

The Tickets@Phone technology from Tickets.com allows event attendees to get tickets from their cell phones.

1. Tickets are delivered to a wireless phone via mms or text message.

2. The information received is similar to that of a paper ticket, with the event date, time and seat location.

3. At the event, the mobile ticket is scanned using an access control device.

4. The ticket taker prints out a receipt for proof of entry.

"Companies are realizing that it's less about the ticket you just sold," says Derek Palmer, COO of Tickets.com. "It's about helping your partners sell the next ticket. Data availability and mobility are critical pieces to managing the relationship with your patrons."
