Country group Zac Brown Band will be bringing its increasingly acclaimed live show to Oklahoma City’s Zoo Amphitheatre on Sept. 16.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 26, the venue announced today.

The Atlanta-based band has developed a reputation for an electrifying live show, particularly after playing a scorching cover of “The Devil Went Down To Georgia” during last year’s Country Music Association Awards.
“I was so thrilled with that performance,” Oklahoma-born superstar Reba McEntire recently told the Associated Press. “I thought it was very gutsy of them, too, not to do their single, but to do a live performance. It was a showstopper. They do go against the grain a lot. They’re kind of renegade in a way, but they back it up.”
The band is coming off a series of three high-profile performances in the last week: Wednesday at the CMT Music Awards, Saturday at the CMA Music Festival and Sunday at the Bonnaroo Music Festival.
In addition, Brown & Co. have the momentum of three No. 1 singles, a recent Grammy win and two albums in Billboard’s country top 10 on their side. Their most-recent album, “The Foundation,” continues its slow burn at No. 3 with 2 million copies sold, and the new two CD, one DVD live set, “Pass The Jar: Live” is No. 9 on the charts.
The group takes a blue-collar approach, Brown told the AP before playing CMA Music Fest and Bonnaroo over the weekend, and feeds off the energy of the crowd. They always know in minutes if the show’s going to go to another level.
“You feed off the crowd,” he said. “Whatever they give you, as much as they’ll give you, it comes back to us and it makes this big turbine of energy in the room. We’ll know stepping out how much they want to give us. It gives us that extra. Literally when we get done playing we’re exhausted. We’re covered in sweat and we’re soaked and we feel like we’ve given them their money’s worth.”

Tim McGraw, Lady Antebellum to play Oklahoma City Zoo Amphitheatre June 13

Oklahoma country music fans will have two chances this year to see superstar Tim McGraw, along with hot trio Lady Antebellum.
McGraw is kicking off his “Southern Voice” North American tour next week and planning stops in Oklahoma City and Tulsa. Lady Antebellum, whose sophomore album “Need You Now” currently is No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts, will join McGraw for the entire tour.
The tour will play June 13 at Oklahoma City’s Zoo Amphitheatre, 2101 NE 50. Special guests Love and Theft will open the Oklahoma City show
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, with prices starting at $57.50.
Tickets will be available online at www.tickets.com and www.zooamp.com, at participating Buy-For-Less Stores or by phone at (800) 511-1552.
In addition, the tour will stop April 8 at Tulsa’s BOK Center, 200 S Denver. Special guests the Lost Trailers will open the Tulsa show.
Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Feb. 13. Ticket prices are set at $35.50, $49.75, $69.75.

McGraw and his band, the Dancehall Doctors, will kick off their tour in support of his new album, “Southern Voice” Thursday at Qwest Center in Omaha, Neb. The tour will conclude at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Virginia Beach, Va., on Aug. 15.
McGraw has sold more than 40 million units and dominated the charts with 30 No. 1 singles. He’s won three Grammys, 14 Academy of Country Music Awards, 11 Country Music Association Awards, 10 American Music Awards, three People’s Choice Awards and numerous other accolades.
He also has a successful acting career, most recently starring in the sleeper hit “The Blind Side,” which this week earned an Oscar nomination for best picture.
Lady Antebellum on Sunday took home the Grammy Award for best best country performance by a duo or group with vocals for the chart-topper “I Run To You.”
The trio recently notched another No. 1 hit with “Need You Now,” which the trio performed on Sunday’s Grammy awards show. The title track of the band’s second album recently spent five weeks at atop the Hot Country Songs chart and is climbing the Billboard 100 pop chart.

Robert Plant, Alison Krauss to play Hurricane Ike benefit in Oklahoma City

Robert Plant and Alison Krauss will play a special benefit concert at the Zoo Amphitheatre on Friday, Sept. 26, to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Ike, it was learned today.
The singers were scheduled to perform at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston on that date but the show was canceled due to the storm's devastation in that city.
Howard Pollock, head of Innervisions, which produces shows at the Zoo, said he received a call early today from Plant's management, inquiring about the availability of the venue.
"Yeah, it's going to happen," Pollock said. "They called me up in my sleep. They said, 'Howard, we want to do a benefit.' What Robert Plant just found out is how devastated Houston and the surrounding areas are. They just said, 'Hey, we want to make this a benefit. Can we pull this off in a week?'
"We're going to get everybody behind this. I think we can sell 6 or 7,000 tickets and all the money goes to the victims. Tickets.com is kicking in. They're kicking in a major portion of their service charges."
Pollock said he expects several major corporations to offer sponsorship for the event as well.
General admission and reserved-seat tickets will go on sale Monday at Tickets.com or by phone at (800) 511-1552.
Plant and Krauss are touring behind their CMA Award-nominated duet album, "Raising Sand."
