The Milwaukee Mile Partners To Save Lives in Wisconsin, Participating in NASCAR Foundation Blood and Marrow Drive
Blood Center of Wisconsin Event Set For September 11th at The Mile
The Milwaukee Mile will partner with the NASCAR Foundation and BloodCenter of Wisconsin on Thursday, September 11th to help save lives in Wisconsin.
“We are proud to host the September 11th NASCAR Foundation Blood & Marrow Drive at The Milwaukee Mile,” said Claude Napier, the historic speedway’s president and chief operating officer.
“While we join our NASCAR friends across the country on this single day event, we welcome and encourage race fans and our entire community to join us for this worthwhile effort that will help more than 50 hospitals right here in Wisconsin.”
BloodCenter of Wisconsin will collect blood donations on September 11th between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Participants should enter the speedway grounds at Fairgrounds Gate 1, at 79th & Greenfield Avenue, and follow directional signs.
The Milwaukee Mile and the NASCAR Foundation will provide thank you gifts to the first 100 attempting donors.
This is the first time The Mile will be participating in the annual NASCAR Foundation Blood & Marrow Drive Presented by Nationwide Insurance. In total, The Mile joins the list of thirty NASCAR speedways that will hold blood drive events on September 11th.
In the past two years, the NASCAR Foundation Blood & Marrow Drive has collected enough pints of blood and names for the National Marrow Donor Program Registry to potentially save more than 17,000 lives.
